Happy Friday!


Happy Friday everyone! I hope that you all had a wonderful week. It's hard to believe that another week has flown by and there is only one week and one day left of classes this semester. I thought I would leave you with a couple of fabulous photos that I have come across as well as a few links.

Holiday Spirit

The countdown begins... Christmas will be here before we know it so I thought I would share some simple ideas that I have come across to decorate ahead of time. Christmas is my favorite holiday of the year because of all of the fun preparations that take place, the decorating, songs, festive food and drinks and wardrobe transition. What is your favorite part of the holiday season?

Coral Corduroys

Ever since I got my pair of coral corduroys I have become obsessed with wearing them. They add such a fun pop of color to any outfit. At first I wasn't sure what to wear with them but plain white t-shirts and jean shirts have done the trick. Here are some other inspirations that I might end up trying.

Holiday Recap & Monday's Motivation

This is so adorable... I love this! 


This holiday break was filled with fun, good food and fabulous company! It was great to be home and good to catch up with family and friends. Here are some photos that recap these past few days.

Thanksgiving Day... great food, and good fun with my immediate family!

In the afternoon... before the feasting began we stacked wood for the winter.

After the feast, we had desert... {I'm not a desert lover, I prefer fruit but the pound cake was pretty good}

Black Friday Festivities

An afternoon break at Le Pain Quotidien and then to Lilly to get one of my sister's Christmas gifts. 

We had a dinner at one of my friend's houses on Friday night... it was good to see everyone for the first time in three months! Tons of fun and laughs. 

 Saturday Reminiscing
Played field hockey for the first time in 2 years... there was an alumni game at my high school and we got to play the current Varsity team {so I got to play against my sis}. It was so nice to catch up with people in my grade that I haven't seen in a while too. Our team colors were black and yellow so I tried to be spirited with the yellow tie-dye socks and school top. 

We both love the sport soooo much. After playing again today {although it was exhausting} I still miss it so much.

Collecting...

Hope everyone had an amazing holiday yesterday and enjoyed some great food with all of your friends and family! In addition, I hope that you are all getting some great bargains today with your Black Friday shopping and are getting some of your holiday shopping complete ahead of time. My family and I are going shopping this afternoon to see what we will find. In the meantime, I have been organizing all of the photos that I have kept on my computer and came across what I am calling a collection of bunny photos that I thought I would share with all of you {they are simply too cute not to}.

Happy Thanksgiving!

I have a break for a few days to be able to catch up with some old high school friends and see my parents, sister and grandparents, something that I am thankful to be doing. Loving or Leaving Leather?

It seems like the leather craze is back in for this upcoming winter season and I'm not 100% sure how I feel about the fad especially the leather pant of legging. Initially I was completely against the trend but after seeing so many stylish ladies dress to perfection I am seeing more and more possibilities come to life. All of the outfits that I am drawn to involve black leather skinnies paired with black or grey or other dark colors. They must be skinnies and I think I like the legging version even better than the regular pant.  What do you think of the leather trend?

Karma

Simply put, I was dragged into drama this weekend that reminded me of being back in middle school. Petty, unnecessary drama that left my usually positive self not so peppy... but I have realized two important things... 
1. People that breed drama are those that you should be cautious around
and...
2. What goes around, comes around and everything happens for a reason.

Love This

Wear sunscreen.
If I could offer you only one tip for the future, sunscreen would be it. The long-term benefits of sunscreen have been proved by scientists, whereas the rest of my advice has no basis more reliable than my own meandering experience. I will dispense this advice now.
Enjoy the power and beauty of your youth. Oh, never mind. You will not understand the power and beauty of your youth until they've faded. But trust me, in 20 years, you'll look back at photos of yourself and recall in a way you can't grasp now how much possibility lay before you and how fabulous you really looked. You are not as fat as you imagine.
Don't worry about the future. Or worry, but know that worrying is as effective as trying to solve an algebra equation by chewing bubble gum. The real troubles in your life are apt to be things that never crossed your worried mind, the kind that blindside you at 4pm on some idle Tuesday.
Do one thing every day that scares you.
Sing.
Don't be reckless with other people's hearts. Don't put up with people who are reckless with yours.
Floss.
Don't waste your time on jealousy. Sometimes you're ahead, sometimes you're behind. The race is long and, in the end, it's only with yourself.
Remember compliments you receive. Forget the insults. If you succeed in doing this, tell me how.
Keep your old love letters. Throw away your old bank statements.
Stretch.
Don't feel guilty if you don't know what you want to do with your life. The most interesting people I know didn't know at 22 what they wanted to do with their lives. Some of the most interesting 40-year-olds I know still don't.
Get plenty of calcium. Be kind to your knees. You'll miss them when they're gone.
Maybe you'll marry, maybe you won't. Maybe you'll have children, maybe you won't. Maybe you'll divorce at 40, maybe you'll dance the funky chicken on your 75th wedding anniversary. Whatever you do, don't congratulate yourself too much, or berate yourself either. Your choices are half chance. So are everybody else's.
Enjoy your body. Use it every way you can. Don't be afraid of it or of what other people think of it. It's the greatest instrument you'll ever own.
Dance, even if you have nowhere to do it but your living room.
Read the directions, even if you don't follow them.
Do not read beauty magazines. They will only make you feel ugly.
Get to know your parents. You never know when they'll be gone for good. Be nice to your siblings. They're your best link to your past and the people most likely to stick with you in the future.
Understand that friends come and go, but with a precious few you should hold on. Work hard to bridge the gaps in geography and lifestyle, because the older you get, the more you need the people who knew you when you were young.
Live in New York City once, but leave before it makes you hard. Live in Northern California once, but leave before it makes you soft. Travel.
Accept certain inalienable truths: Prices will rise. Politicians will philander. You, too, will get old. And when you do, you'll fantasize that when you were young, prices were reasonable, politicians were noble and children respected their elders.
Respect your elders.
Don't expect anyone else to support you. Maybe you have a trust fund. Maybe you'll have a wealthy spouse. But you never know when either one might run out.
Don't mess too much with your hair or by the time you're 40 it will look 85.
Be careful whose advice you buy, but be patient with those who supply it. Advice is a form of nostalgia. Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.
But trust me on the sunscreen.

This Week


Hello everyone. Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Today's post is to inform you that this week I might be posting very sporadically or not at all. In addition to having a cold and losing my voice, I have two lab reports, two tests, two quizzes and an essay due. While my blog is usually my outlet, this week I can't dedicate much time to it at all. I will be back before you know it, hopefully feeling a little bit better as well!

Friday's Favorites

T.G.I.F... this week was pretty crazy. Between the many big assignments I had to do, the ridiculous weather and a lack of motivation, I am so happy this week is finally over. This weekend is going to be filled with a lot of homework, I have two tests, two lab reports and two quizzes next week! It's time to breathe a sigh of relief for a bit today and enjoy some time away from work.

Places to See

One of my favorite things to do, besides spending time with family and friends is travel... I've been fortunate enough to travel around the country and world a little bit but after going to Rome this summer I think the travel bug got even worse! I've been adding to my "go to" and "must see" lists ever since.

Lastly, Central Park in New York City. I can't tell you how many times I have been to NY and I've never been to Central Park. I think over winter break I am going to take a chilly stroll through the park.
