Monday's Motivation

Happy Monday! 

This weekend was a busy but good one. But as Monday rolls around I can't help but feel overwhelmed... overwhelmed with the amount of work that I have coming, with the amount of pressure that I have on me and place on myself to do well in all of my classes, with the decisions that I have to make about just about everything. What I have realized is that for me, balance is nearly impossible to achieve and that I simply have to keep focused on the day by day and cross the big bridges when they come. I guess the key is simply just the carry on... people think I am always completely composed and collected but truthfully I need to work on the keep calm part for myself. 

So here is to keeping calm and carrying on! xox

Happy Friday! Hope you all had an amazing week... any exciting plans for the weekend ahead? 

This weekend is going to be a busy but fun one. We have a welcome back party tonight on our campus and tomorrow is a big community service day as well. In addition, I have a TON of homework to get done and a busy week next week!

Classic With A Twist

Classic with a twist is the way that I would describe Blair of Atlantic Pacific's style. She has a way to mix simple elements with fun accessories and accent pieces that make her outfits unique. I love how the two stipe combinations here are completely different... the first mixed with a great floral and the second with another stipe and a pop of color! For her completely classic looks... neutral to the max with the third combo but still that fun animal print accessory and lastly jeans and a great shoe and peplum top equals perfection. 

Girly Gingham

As my birthday rounds the corner I have been thinking about adding one of these adorable gingham shirts to my button down mix. I like how they have pattern and color yet are classic pieces at the same time and can be worn under winter sweaters or with skirts just as easily. 

Loving this ensemble... classic yet still girly and fun!

I think I like the smaller check better though.

It's Back To Work... In Style Of Course

I'm back at school and I have to say I am liking being back. Good to see old friends and meet new ones and I always like having a schedule so it will be good to go back to being super organized! Speaking of organized, it has taken me a little time but my room is finally finished (well almost... I'm waiting for the rug this week). My parents came back Sunday with a bookcase, chair, floor lamp and two huge pieces of artwork and I have to say I am in love with my room. So without further ado... here it is. 

What do you all think?

Same bedding as last year but with a new rug, curtains and artwork.

Added a bulletin board and huge Audrey Hepburn piece behind the bed.

And here is my entertaining section... another piece of artwork, chair and ottoman and this fabulous high gloss bookcase!

Happy Labor Day Everyone!

I hope that you have been enjoying the weekend and are taking full advantage of this wonderful day off. Labor Day also marks the end of white pant wearing.The past couple of years I haven't taken the rule into account and here are some fabulous reasons why! 

Paired with a long sleeve top white pants are versatile until the weather gets too cool.

Or how about a fabulous scarf to keep you warm? 

Chambray tops also work extremely well and are so sleek!
