Last Night
Ciao!
Here is a quick update of last night and today... we went out to dinner at about 10 PM last night... one of the best places so far... and then went to the Trevi Fountain for picture taking and coin throwing after dinner. Today we had class from 9-12 and then went to an amazing Italian deli for lunch. Now it is time to get some homework done for our field trip to the Vatican tomorrow.

Rome Galore
Hope everyone had a nice weekend, even though we didn't go to the Amalfi Coast we had a great weekend. On Friday we went to see the Colosseum and the Forum and saw a couple of amazing churches. Saturday we went to the beach and got some sun and relaxed a little bit; we also met three 17 year old Italian girls on the train to the beach and spent the whole day with them. Yesterday we did homework and then met up with two of the girls and went for a walk around the area by our hotel.
Today we went to a rehabilitation hospital and got a tour of the neuroscience department. It was an amazing experience and I am happy that I was able to see it... there were so many inspiring people, many of whom were hit on their motorcycles or Vespas and were facing a long road ahead of recovery. We then went to lunch with our whole group and now I am back and ready to get some homework done this afternoon.

Neutrals
Good morning... or should I say good afternoon. Just sitting in our common room in Rome, with the fan gong full speed, talking with one of my friends. Soon its about time that I started getting my homework, we already have two essay questions to answer and another portion of a book to read. In lieu of my crazy work load here... I am leaving you with this post on neutrals until I catch up.
Loving this classic with a twist ensemble... so chic!
Classic = Perfection in my book
Neutrals with gold accents... perfect.
T.G.I.F... what does everyone have planned for the weekend? We were planning on going to see the major tourist places and check that off our list.
Enjoy! xox

The Vatican
The first week of classes is already over! I can't believe this trip is going by so quickly... it makes me realize that I have to take advantage of every opportunity to go, see or do things. So far we have seen the Spanish steps, the Trevi Fountain, many churches around our hotel and of course the Vatican. Yesterday's trip was pretty amazing, here are a few pictures of the exterior... the interior ones aren't loading on my computer for some reason but I promise you will see some of those too!
The dome
The view from the top of the dome... stunning!
Overlooking the front of the Vatican
My friend and I the other night!
As for this weekend's travels...
We had a little problem in that we were planning on going to leave for Amalfi tomorrow morning and stay there for two nights and rent a boat and go to Capri for the days but there is going to be a public transportation strike tomorrow and we are going to stay here this weekend instead.
We were thinking tomorrow we would see the Colosseum, Pantheon, Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain (the last two we saw briefly but we actually want to get pictures at them) and Saturday we will probably go to Florence and maybe the beach on Sunday.
Have any of you been to Italy? Any must see places that aren't so toursitsy?

Update From Rome.. Photo Edition
Morning Breakfast from the local market.
Catching up with one of my best friend's in Rome too!
Dinner on the Rooftop overlooking the city of Rome.
The group...
The bridge over to Trastevere.
St. Peter's Basilica... stunning.
We wanted to go to the dome of the basilica...
the walls were crooked... this isn't my camera.
Finally at the top... nearly 1000 stairs!
Enjoy! xoxo
Pattern Perfection - Chevron
Chevron is another fun and unique pattern that can literally be applied anywhere. From clothing to interiors, chevron has become a design staple...
Chevron adds a funky touch to tabletops!
Loving this top... still looks classic but has a lot of sass!
My favorite way to include chevron in the home.
This piece is fabulous... going into my inspiration section on Pinterest!

Quote of the Day
What a spectacular quote... being confident in yourself and your own abilities is essential! My mom and grandma have always said to always do what is good for you and to be a leader and not a follower and this quote follows that same direction. Forget about leveling up to others because in the long run it will slow you down and unsteady your focus... focus on loving and appreciating every part of yourself, that is where you will truly figure out who you really are!
Enjoy! xox
P.S - People always ask where and why I have these words of wisdom at only 18... a lot of it comes from lessons my family has shared. The rest comes from my own experiences and paths thus far. I was always (still am) the one that people comes to for advise or to talk about anything and because of that I have a repertoire of words of wisdom that I believe in!

Lots of laughs!

Relaxing in the sun by the pool!
You are the best dad a girl could ask for, and I am so thankful and appreciative for all that you do! Love you lots! xoxo
P.S - I was going to put good food in that section... but I heard about the cleanse so I thought I wouldn't tempt you! Hehe.
The First Day In Rome
I'm finally here!
After a three hour flight delay and one of my group member's lost suitcase, our 9 hour travel time turned into 15... but its all worth it because I'm in Rome. Here are some of my pictures thus far.
Where we are staying... Hotel Major Aventinus.
The view from the Taxi.
Our room.
The view from our bathroom window... the bathrooms are so interesting! hehe.
The first meal in Rome... prosciutto sandwiches and some gifted cake and chocolates.
On our walk last night... through a design district no less... I came across this furniture store!
Hope everyone is enjoying the weekend! xox
