Weekend Wishes

Happy Weekend everyone!

I just thought that I'd share some weekend links...

Now that I've had more practice cooking this semester I've been pinning more and more recipes to try. I think its time that I tried cooking this (closer to the holidays maybe) and making this as well!

Have you checked out Matchbook Magazine's November issue? The magazine is very cosmopolitan and has the perfect mix of articles, photography and pieces that make you want to shop away.

This past Friday I volunteered on what the Danes call a mobile cafe. I spend five hours serving food off of the car to the homeless throughout the city of Copenhagen. We went to seven different stops and were able to talk with the people and serve them some warm food on a freezing cold night. I was humbled at how welcoming and appreciative the individuals were and also for the gentleman who allowed me to join him and as a million questions. Such an amazing experience and one that I am really fortunate that I took part in. I found this link that allows you to look up different organizations to volunteer in the US. I am going to try and make more of an effort when I get home to involve myself further in actively volunteering... I have been donating microloans to individuals on Kiva.org for the past couple of years but there is nothing like seeing directly where your impacts are making a difference.

Have a wonderful weekend! xox

Flying By

Adorable home overlooking the paths of the Rosenborg Castle

Happy Weekend! This week flew by; I was traveling in Sweden with my class the first couple of days of the week and then got home and went to field trips with my core class again. Needless to say the week was filled with new sights, experiences and adventures. I posted some pictures and details over here, mainly of Sweden which I absolutely loved! Have any of you ever been to Sweden?

I haven't spent all that much time online this week but I did enjoy coming home and reading the new issues of Lonny and Matchbook Magazines.

My friends here also got me reading the blog 40 Days of Dating where two friends Jess and Tim decide to date for 40 days and they blog each day about it. We were reading to catch up since day 37 - 40 was posted a couple of days ago.

This weekend is going to be filled with work, seeing as many outdoor sights as possible and enjoying some time in the beautiful weather before fall really sets in.

What does everyone else have planned for their weekend agenda?

New, New, New

With the new year comes new magazine issues, and shows, new seasonal clothes and my favorite part... the planners and calendars. The new issue of Matchbook Magazine was released only a few days ago and it is another fabulous issue! I love everything from the article on La France and all of the adorable clothing, accessory and household picks for any personality.

I was amazed at how quickly stores take their winter clothes from the stores and have spring and summer everything already. Thats not such a bad thing though, it just means that I can admire all of the new clothes and pick some new favorites.

And the most important part of the new year... the planners and calendars! I always love picking my new planner, it has to have enough room to write all of my homework down and have calendar pages throughout to fit my long term schedule.

What are your favorite parts of the new year?

Lately...

These past couple of days have been some of the most memorable and extraordinary ones... from the Alt Summit to the Color Run with 15,000 people, my bucket list is getting checked off more quickly than I thought.

The first ever Alt Summit NYC was held this past Thursday and my mom and I were lucky enough to get tickets before it sold out! We were able to meet some amazing bloggers and speakers including Tina  Roth Eisenberg of swissmiss and Kevin Sharke and Pilar Guzman of Martha Stewart Living. In addition, Katie Armour of Matchbook Magazine, Jenny Komenda of Little Green Notebook, and Natalie of Nat the Fat Rat spoke. The event was held at Martha Stewart Omnimedia in NYC and was quite stunning!

Did I mention that Martha...  the Martha Stewart stopped by!!! She has such an empire and is so heavily involved in each and every item that she sells, prints and designs that we were honored that she took the time to come see us. In addition she even shared some of her own blogging tips!

Saturday morning, we woke up bright and early... it was so early it was more dark out than bright. At 4 AM the sun was just peaking out! It's not every day that I get to see the sunrise...

But the early rise was sooooooo worth it because we did The Color Run! It was honestly one of the most fun experiences ever... we started off with our pure white shirts and in the end were were covered with colored powder. We ran a 5 K and in the midst of it you run through sections of specific colors. After the run itself, there was a DJ playing and a huge dance party which was a blast. Every half hour or so color packets were distributed and we would throw them up to create an amazing color array. Even as we left our traces were left with the pavement completely covered...

I absolutely loved everything about these past couple of days... I would highly recommend the Color Run to anyone... it was amazing! And I appreciated going to the Alt Summit, it was nice to learn more about the blogging community, a group that I am happy to be a part of!

How was your weekend? xox

Matchbook Magazine - Favorites

I can't tell you how much I love Matchbook Magazine... the magazine is fun, youthful and inspirational. I look forward to Matchbook every month and this month's issue might just be my new favorite!

I love the little illustrations that they always pair with "The Matchbook Girl"

Every girl should know how to make her own fabulous London Wall

What a colorful and cozy mix!

The dynamic duo at Two Penny Blue

The multitasking mom Caitlin Wilson... reminds me a lot of my mommy!

Founder of ModCloth... loved reading this article. She started her business between high school and college (I wish)!

Hope everyone enjoys the new issue just as much as I did! xox
