2012... 2013

It's hard to believe that yet another year has flown by! With 2012 came amazing opportunities, unforgettable experiences and fabulous memories... this year I completed my first year and a half of college, met an amazing group of friends and professors, studied abroad three weeks in Rome, participated in the Warrior Dash and the Color Run, went to Puerto Rico with my family, started this amazing blog, attended the first ever ALT Summit in NYC, started interning at a local hospital, became the secretary and then president of the pre-med club on campus. I'm so thankful for the many opportunities that I have been fortunate enough to experience and I can't wait for another year ahead.

Last year was the first year that I created a list of New Year's Resolutions and I am happy to say that I have checked many of them off of the list! In 2013, however, I hope to develop this blog even more and try and reach more people. I also resolve to remain informed about the world and local news even more {by reading at least 3 news articles a day} and read more leisure books!

Wishing everyone a happy and healthy New Year!! xox

Weekend Wishes

It's the last weekend of 2012... this year went by incredibly quickly and was one that I will never forget {recap is coming on Monday}. This weekend involves a few shopping trips, a visit with one of my friends from high school who I haven't seen in a month and a day in New York City! In addition, I'm going to rewrite my New Year's Resolutions, spend some time thinking about where I want this little blog to go in the new year and reading Gillian Flynn's Gone Girl. Have any of you ever read it before?

Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend. xo

Break Time

I hope that you all had an amazing holiday filled with family, friends and fabulous food. This past week has been so busy, I packed up half of my dorm room and came back home for a month long break, shopped for 4 days straight for Christmas gifts, went to New York City to see a friend who I haven't seen for a couple of months and celebrated the holiday with my family. I've compiled a photo guide to show you all of the details...

Took this picture of my school quad and chapel before leaving campus for a whole month. It is great to have a big chunk of time off to relax and regenerate but I will admit I do miss school a little bit. Its nice to have a set schedule, and I love to keep going all the time so I am going to have to plan a lot for the break!

On the way home from school, I always take my friend to the train station near my house so she can go home to NYC. This time we were early for her train so I took her to this crazy Christmas light house in the town over from me. My family and I drive by each year but this year my friend and I got out and toured the whole display... it was insane. We were speachless and we made sure that we got a picture in front of everything!

The first four days home involved shopping in New Canaan, Westport, and Westchester, NY. We ended up finding everything though and are doing returns for the next couple of days too!

Sunday afternoon I went to meet my friend and her family in NYC. I haven't seen her in a couple of months, she used to go to my school and has since transferred schools. I met her and her family uptown and then went to dinner at Nobu {so yummy!}.

Christmas Eve day I helped by mom and sister with some cooking and then helped set our holiday table for Christmas day. We went out to dinner that night with my parents and sister and had an amazing Christmas eve dinner!

Christmas day we had family at my house and ate more amazing foods! Finally everything has calmed down a bit and I've had some time to get a schedule in place and have some time to chill with my adorable doggy {brother}.

What has your past week been like?

Weekend Wishes

Hope everyone had a good week and you are all getting ready for the holidays. Ever since I got home on Tuesday night my mom and I have been out shopping for last minute gifts. I've turned into an elf wrapping everything and preparing the house as well. I have to say... as much as I love being home I am already looking for something to do and keep me busy with. I like to keep going all of the time and being home for one month with nothing planned is too low key for me! What does everyone have planned for the weekend? Wishing you a great weekend filled with friends, family and festivities!

Button Down and Sweater

Now that the winter weather is here in full swing I will definitely be pulling out my sweaters and button downs. Pairing a warm sweater with a jean or patterned button down makes a stylish and warm outfit and I love it!

Have a great day!! xox

Nail Head Details

Is this room stunning or what?! I am obsessed with the nail head detailing on the wall and the eclectic mix of furniture in this amazing room. This room is such a visual feast for the eyes, and I am amazed at how well the designer mixes the traditional elements with those that are more spunky like the hide rug and the amazing walls. Dream room!

Here are some other nail head details that I adore.

Have a wonderful day! xox

Be Thankful

At the memorial service for the Sandy Hook victims last night, President Obama spoke about the power  and importance of love and support. He said that the love that binds us to others is what matters in a time like this. Unfortunately it takes a tragic situation like this in order for people to take a step back from their hectic lives and appreciate, support and love those that mean so much to them. This message serves as a reminder for myself and to others to stop and appreciate those that you love the most... savor the moments!!

In Loving Memory

Flag on campus at half-staff... in loving memory of those who lost their lives in the tragedy at Sandy Hook Elementary School.

My heart goes out to the victims and their families who have been affected by the tragic shooting at Sandy Hook. It is heartbreaking to even think that such harm could be done to innocent, beautiful children and their honorable teachers. The victims and their heroic teachers will always be remembered.

To the 26 angels... a moment of silence and remembrance.
To their families... there is an immense amount of love and support from everyone in the state of Connecticut and even around the globe.

Fur Favorites

Loving these fabulous winter vests... they look so soft and cozy!! Sorry for the short posts this week, its finals week so I will be running around and studying a ton through Friday. Have a great day!

Monday's Motivation

My mom pinned this picture the other day and I keep reading the words in my head over and over again. I'm going to try and keep these words in mind for the week! Have a great day! xox

Fabulous Office Space

The Glitter Guide posted an article yesterday about La Petit Peach's office... I have to say I am obsessed. The clean lines and white, crisp palette make everything so fresh and peppy. I think if I had an office like that I would be able to get a ton of work done!

Words of the day... xox

Barbour... Do or a Don't?

What do you think about Barbour jackets? When the fall rolls around on campus, you can't go from one class to another without seeing a bunch of Barbour jackets. At my school the Barbour is a staple with both guys and girls, it seems to be the jacket that goes with any outfit or in any type of weather from what I have seen. I've always had a hard time following the crowd though, so let me ask you... would you join the Barbour crowd or do you strive to be different?
