Back To Work!

I'm back from the most amazing vacation ever! Although it was the third or fourth time I've been to Puerto Rico, this vacation was much needed and I have come back motivated, rested and tan. Here is my outfit of today along with a few pictures of my view yesterday and today's unfortunate one. Tomorrow's post will be a vacation recap since I only have one class. Whoo! But now it's off to Bio review.

White button down to show off the tan, jeans, my favorite belt and
Ralph Lauren boots for the New England weather

Picture of the chapel on my walk to class.

You can barely see the buildings in the snow!

My view yesterday....

Enjoy! xo

Finally Friday!

Hello, hello, hello. Sorry I haven't been present for much of the week... it has become somewhat of a nightmare, worst week ever type of deal and hence I am thrilled it's Friday and even more excited tomorrow is Saturday. Saturday means Puerto Rico baby!!!!

I guess I'll give you a speed week recap so you know about my treacherous week...

Monday: Usual bio and chem classes in the morning, lit in the afternoon.... then I had a test review from 7:30 to 10 at night, late night one of the week.

Tuesday: Chem SI went from 8-10:30 and then I had to study for two exams, Bio and Chem that were back to back the next day! Two hardest classes, of course. Late night two of the week.

Wednesday: After failing chem, and I mean failing... I think I did better on Bio though, I had to finish a late night lab report and then started feeling sick. Late night three of the week.

Thursday: Stomach Bug! That pretty much sums it up... except for the fact that I had to get out of bed and go to Bio lab for three hours. But it was the first night of the week that wasn't a late one, I actually slept for 18 hours yesterday.

Friday: Feeling much better, thank goodness. But this morning I woke up to snow! So therefore I can't wait to get off the plane tomorrow morning to 85 degree weather.

Hope all of you have an amazing weekend! xo

The Allure of The Trench

I don't know about you but I've always loved trench coats, especially the short ones. There is that element of sophistication that I love. In addition, they can be dressed up or down for any event, they are almost like blazers! I got a Theory trench two years ago and love wearing it everywhere. I am planning on taking my trench on vacation this week and am trying to come up with ideas on how to dress it up.

Trench with stripes.

Love the gold accents in the jewels

Or a pop of red...

I think I'm going with something like this... trench
with jean shirt and a fun scarf, it will keep me warm
on the plane but will still have an element of
sassiness!

Hopefully your Monday is going well!

Over the Rainbow

Good morning! After waking up and thinking of the many things I have to do this week, I also reflected on the opportunities and privileges that are sometimes taken for granted. This week, however, I am taking nothing for granted... Today's post reflects my upbeat attitude today and involves the colors of the rainbow. Enjoy!

How fun... just looking at them makes me happy!

I'd love a pair of these... and picking out an outfit to go with
would be a blast.

Bright and wonderful.

Love this collage of color!

Natural colors... beyond gorgeous!

Enjoy your Sunday! xo

Just Keep Swimming!

Happy Weekend! I know, I've been MIA for the past week... Sorry! I've had an incredible amount of work to the point were all I do is eat, sleep and work. I came across this quote the other day and it has helped me chug along, and I will definitely need it this week as I have two exams on Wednesday, two lab reports, a quiz and a ten minute presentation on a book! Wish me luck and enjoy your weekend. xo

Happy Valentines Day!

Happy Valentines Day to all of you! I hope that you are all enjoying the special day... I was never the type of girl to go crazy about Valentine's Day, but I realized the other day that it doesn't just have to revolve around having a special someone. Today is a day to appreciate, love and support all of your friends and family too! xoxo

Starting the day off right... food made with love, literarily.

How special...

Secretly I'd like to be her!!

Have a wonderful day!

Magnificent Monday

Happy Monday! Hope all of you enjoyed the weekend, and are ready for the chilly week ahead. I was just going through my daily blog roll and came across this AMAZING bedroom that I have fallen in love with. The color, patterns and mix of old and new is fantastic... I just wish we could see the rest of the room.

How much do you love this?

Weekly Recap

Hope everyone had a wonderful week! It's hard to believe that the week has gone by so quickly and its the weekend already. This week was considerably better than the last and I am working to finding balance which is the most important.

Monday: My busiest day of the week surprisingly went off without a hitch. It was my first meeting as the secretary of the biology club and it was actually fun! I get to send out emails to the group, take notes, and attendance; before that, I mentored my 2nd grader... might I say, she is adorable. She didn't see me in the beginning of the session because I was getting trained and she said that she was looking all over for me! Aww.

Tuesday: Perhaps the most boring and thrilling day at the same time. My stat class is so monotone but easy, so I don't mind it too much. Then my chem lab went by quickly and my afternoon freed up quite a bit, so I had time to get ahead on homework and sat laughing with my friends at dinner for two hours.

At dinner I was told by a friend that her roommate (another friend of mine) loves my voice and thinks that I could do voiceovers! What a weird thing to say... but if I was a cartoon voice I'd like to be a cute character, or an animal of some sort!

Speaking of cute animals...

Wednesday: After having a late night on Tuesday and not really sleeping either, I wasn't in the best mood... until I got a package filled with some wonderful goodies from my family! My sister took my snail mail post to heart and sent me this, and while reading it, I had a Whole Food's lunch in my room and had a heart shaped cookies (homemade!) for desert.

How amazing is this letter, my sister tea dyed it and burned the edges.
Ultimate snail mail! xoxo

Thursday: I was so scared for my bio lab, so my day was a bit stressful, until I got to lab and it was over in half the time. I had another laugh filled dinner, and a friend told me that I have old lady sassiness... weird hugh?! Then I got roped into taking people from my dorm to the mall, then got back and went to an SI session and then had to help a friend with a lab report, an early night turned late... again.

Much needed shut eye!

Friday: After two quizzes, a lunch with a friend off campus, tour guiding for an hour, two hours of homework, a quick dinner and a Shakespeare play 30 min away, I some how had enough energy to go to the freshman snowflake dance for an hour.

My friends and I at the snowflake!

I was also called an academic wife... this was quite an interesting week! hehe

Saturday: Today I wasn't the most productive student on the planet, I got up late after our late night last night and even though I got reading done for three classes and cleaned my room, I didn't do my long term assignments like an essay on the play and a lab report in bio. Then I went to the best restaurant in town, its called Plan B, I know weird name right? But I had the best burger and nachos that I have ever had!

Enjoy the rest of the weekend! xox

A Balancing Act

Good afternoon! I mentioned yesterday that today is all about balance... how to find it, keep it, even sometimes struggle with it. Being a Libra, balance is everything, but conversely, I am what one might call Type-A... the two don't mix well together, let me tell you. Designating time for family, school work, social life, working out, blogging, review sessions, and clubs has been incredibly difficult to desipher. I'm going to be honest, family and school work come first and social life is essentially at the bottom of the totem pole. The reason for my lack of balance comes from my incredible amount of homework, demanding classes and being a complete stress ball all the time. There are times when I feel like I could just sit for a whole day and do work, rarely thinking about making plans with people, but I've realized over the past few weeks that things need to change, and if I want to make the most out of my college experience, then I have to make time for everything... well, try to!

Pinterest

Part of the reason why this semester has been so crazy is because I'm broadening my horizons to eventually create balance for myself. There are certain things that I feel that I have successfully mastered and others, not so much.

My balance goals...

1. Limit the amount of stress from school work- Like I said before, I am at a great school for a reason and am going to keep up the hard work. What I am going to try to do however is set times throughout the day for work and times for friends. Last week I ended up eating lunch in my room multiple times because of the work load, but this week I've made it to the dining hall for almost every meal. Want to know why? Because I set lunch, dinner and breakfast time for doing fun things with friends, not for doing work.

2. Expand my friend horizon and try to meet new people - While I can say that I have some close friends, I wouldn't say that I have a group per se. In order to expand my friend network, I have joined many new clubs (ACES, Biology Club, M.D Fox Mentoring, I'm also the secretary of the Pre-Med Club) these activities keep me busy and allow me to meet like-minded people. I have also been spending much more time in the library, there I see a ton of people that I know! In addition, leaving my door open allows dorm mates to stop by and say hi often and as a result I feel like I am becoming closer with people in my dorm too!

3. Finding time for me- This is one of the harder parts of balancing my life because homework and social life take a great chunk of time but I have decided that I am no longer going to be a grandma and go to bed at 9 PM and take another hour or two a night to do something that I enjoy. I make sure that my homework is done by 9 and then I spend the rest of my evening watching a show, or creating a blog post, or even spending some time on Pinterest. This time is relaxing and calming and allows me to do something for myself!

How do all of you find balance? Any advice.

Pink... Pink... Pink

What a day! There are days when I feel balanced, or what some people might call zen-like, then there are days like today when I feel like a I'm running around like a nut! After a rather monotone Statistics class this morning I had a four hour break... during that break I had high hopes let me tell you! Did those high hopes get reached... not quite! But Tuesday is almost over, and Wednesday will hopefully be a little bit more productive and balanced. Tomorrow's post is going to be all about balance... but today, let's have a little fun!

Considering it is February, the month of love and pinkness, I figured what a better time to do a post on all of my favorite pink pictures.

What a cute little, pink cottage! It's adorable... if only we could
see the inside.

Why not have a pink front door too?!

How about this rather luxurious pink boudoir!

Love this pink bookshelf accent.

What a fun Valentine's Day outfit.

Evening outfit perhaps!?

Wouldn't it be wonderful to have a Valentines picnic under this
Eifel Tower? How special.

And waking up to breakfast set at this table!?

I hope all of you had a wonderful day! xo

Beautiful Blues

What a game...yay Giants!!!

And the halftime show, go Madonna, she was amazing! Talk about talent... mixing her older songs with LMFAO and M.I.A was pretty impressive. In honor of the Giant's big win, I've dedicated today's post to the color blue!

Blue leggings... how cool!

Polka- dots... love! Almost as much as I love the Giants!

Love the mix of light and dark blue, blue to the max!

Blue and white zebra-esque print... fun, funky and fashionable.

Celebration table scape... gorgeous!

In honor of the big win, I say we all paint our front doors blue!!!

Have a great day everyone!
